Does anyone  know more about this. I know it is being worked on by Al Lowe and the games developers.

SCI Development Tools / Re: SCI Studio vs. SCI Companion

For me, I use both depending on the situation.

I use Studio for editing everything except for the script. I don't like the text editor for editing scripts.

I use Companion for more the more complex editing features. I also find the text editor much better here. My only gripe is the font the text editor uses.

Off subject, does anyone know any good text editors for writing my scripts.

First of all, I did't know that the sierra help pages was your page. I have used your page for almost a year, even before I got into SCI programming. It was though your page that I learned about DosBox. Second, your page plus Ken and Roberta Williams page is all I need for playing my sierra classics. The William's page for manuals and hintbooks, and your page for the rest. I think that you are keeping the sierra classics aliive better than Vivendi. I hope though these two pages that these classic series stay alive.

I think I'm going to stick with the said parser games since I am also a TADS developer. I am going to tinker with the parser some more and will try to create a parser manual/guide. Hope I have good luck with the project. I may enter the comp, but am more interested in games using the parser.

Also, can someone tell me what types of sentences the said parser can understand. The first tutorial said that a sentence can have a maximum of three parts. Can someone tell me the types of sentences the parser understands. Use the format word class/wordclass/word class. The only one I know is imperative verb/preposition/noun.

The reason I ask is that I also write TADS games. They provide a parser manual. SCI Editors don't really explain the parser in their documation like other adventure game editors.

Can someone explain all the properties of each class. The  help file doesn't explain any of them. They only explain the class methods.

I have Windows XP and some of the games don't run smootly with MSDOS. DOSBOX is the only way for me to play other peoples SCI games.

Hi! I'm new to the forum. I recommend adding DOSBOX to the links and tools section. It is a great DOS emulator and sierra recommends it for newer windows PC's.
