Opinions on ice cave pixel art
« on: December 15, 2016, 04:35:24 PM »
I'm trying to figure out how to draw glaciers and ice caves. I find that pixel art ends up being best if sourced from paintings, so I "import bitmap to pic"'d several paintings I found on the internet. Which of the following looks best/most convincing as pixel art, and a good direction to use for drawing?

Haha, I don't want to take any artistic notes from those CoC screenshots... they look awful!

I like #4, #6, and #8. Feels like real game scenes I'd love to explore.

Thank you all for your opinions (and I tend to agree). Now I just have to translate that style into original compositions :P
