Okay.

After a hiatus and some tinkering around with YouTube streaming, and purchasing some equipment, I'm resurrecting the Werewolves and Wanderer project I worked on in the past.

This time I'm using the SCI 1.1 Engine in SCI Companion (the latest build)

This is a real time development. Which means the series itself will be dry and boring.

It will give a sense as to exactly how much time is needed to develop one of these things.

I've uploaded the demo for the thing I've been working on...  Unfortunately, I discovered afterwards that some save game files seem to lock up the game when you go to restore.  Most of them seem to be working without issue, but that could definitely be annoying.  That and the Inventory possible-memory menu text aside, though, it should be pretty solid...  If I can sort the occasional save game glitch, it'd be good to reupload.

Because I'm using assets from AGDI's KQ1VGA AGS remake which is under license that it can only be distributed from AGDI's website and any and all updates must be QC'd by ActiVision.

That changes nothing for backgrounds and speech and all the custom animations.

I was only thinking of a starting point. Seems as if most of the Graham views needed could be taken from KQ5.

I'm not really that interested in doing the whole game from scratch, though. This way is much faster and gets me practice for SCI1.1. And perhaps in the future I'll be able to release it somehow. I got the source straight from Chris (AGD2) so it's nice to be able to just plug stuff in for the most part. There's stuff I definitely have to play with like converting dialogue portraits from 24-bit colour to 256 colours (hardest part so far). Well, actually 64 colours so that it can only use the first 64 colours of the game's palette that never change throughout the game. The result ends up looking closer to KQ5 and a little more cartoony.
