Title: Coming up with ideas
Post by: MusicallyInspired on December 17, 2015, 11:23:59 AM
How do you do it? Like, I have a premise but no idea how to expand on it. Story writing has always been a skill that has eluded me. I just don't know where to start.

Puzzles are the other problem. Story kind of calls for it when it needs it, I guess, but it, like story, always seems like a huge thing that I can't get right. Am I blowing it out of proportion?

Just for starters, I'm a pervert with nostalgia goggles.

Not sure it really applies to classic adventure games, but this is a great video on puzzle design:

As for story, I'm completely clueless.

Interesting. Jonathan Blow is a smart fellow. Good to see he spoke a bit about this. I'll definitely check it out later.
