Title: [SOLVED] Walking/Cycle speed?
Post by: MusicallyInspired on April 27, 2019, 01:18:50 PM
Where is this set for Ego in SCI1.1? I cannot find it. I'm so rusty. Right now my Ego is moving too fast for his walking animation which is giving the effect of his feet sliding on the ground like he's walking on a conveyor belt horizontally. Diagonally it's like he's slipping on ice and not getting anywhere. Vertically his speed is fine. Where can I fine tune this? Just from the raw template game in Sierra Script.

So rusty.

If his horizontal and vertical speed are that different, you might want to check Actor::setStep. In fact, that's what's called by SetUpEgo in main; setStep: 5 2.

Just found it. Changing it to "3 2" makes it work nicely. It doesn't, however, fix the diagonal cycle problem. Is there a setting for that somewhere or is it derived somehow between these two values?

Not a big issue really. But if there's an option to set it I wouldn't want to overlook it.
