Title: AGI on XP
Post by: CapTAmerik@ on June 27, 2002, 10:31:29 AM
Hi all,

I downloaded AGI Studio a long time ago and am in the process of doing the logic for my own game (desktop has WinME). Now, I just bought a laptop with Win XP and for some reason, when I start my game from there all output-text is erased. Instead I see a Wingdings-type of font which is unreadable? Anybody a suggestion to what I can do.

Also, just uploaded SCI Studio. For some reason, my desktop crashes when opening a new or template game. Please help!

Thanks and looking forward to becoming part of the community!

Try useing NAGI, it can be found at http://www.agidev.com/nagi.html

Just download it and put it in the directory with your AGI game and run the executable.

As for SCI Studio problems I will alert Brian to this thread...

I'm actually building SCI Studio on XP, so I don't see what your problem would be. I'll need more information.

Not to worry, SCI Studio on XP actually works great. I was just wondering why it crashes on my desktop (WinME). After reading other threats, I found a couple of other people had the same problem.

I'm not in a rush to get the answer, just wanted you to be aware of the ME-problem. For now, I'll just go about studying your (GREAT!) program.

Thanks and read you soon,

I'm a little busy with work, but am still making a lot of time for SCI Studio. I'm working on volume II of the tutorial, some user suggested enhancements such as selection tools in the graphic editors, pasting selections, copying selections, moving selections, as well as updated drawing tools. I will finish up the current enhancements, then work on fixing it's Win9x compatibility. When done that, I'll release the next version, then work on the next enhancements/tutorial.

So, anyway, Brian, have you been working on a Linux port of your excellent IDE?  I would really like one, but don't know enough meat-and-potatoes coding to do it myself, otherwise  I would.

Question, is SCIstudio done in C or PASCAL?

I obviously have Gnu C for my Linux box, but I have a half-assed version of Codewarrior (read: Pascal) for my Mac.  So, I suppose I could help somewhat.  Let me know, please.
