Title: Thinking about changing the member websites page
Post by: Cloudee1 on October 05, 2010, 05:57:45 PM
So I'm noticing that a couple of new users have asset tracking in common. Hmm, ok, maybe just a coincidence but I'm thinking of adding a post requirement before your website info is added to that list. My first instinct is to set the minimum requirement to 1. I would think that would be fair.

What do you guys think?

Hey, sounds fine to me.  Don't have a website, post plenty.

I have a minimum post requirement for signatures to prevent signature spambots on SHP's board. This is not unreasonable at all. If anyone has any real interest in this board they will quickly get past any minimum post requirement.

So I have in fact added a post limit to the member sites page. The current minimum is not 0.

If anyone is worried that they may not meet this requirement, please post a reply here and we'll see what we can work out.  ;)

Cheers

I don't see why anyone can't wait to have their site listed as long as the minimum isn't more than say 20-30 or so. It doesn't take that long to accumulate that many posts. If they can't do that many, it seems more like they are just trying to advertise a site. Out of curiosity, what is the limit set to?

WHERE posts <> 0. So for now a single post covers it. Hence the post a reply bit.

I personally would crank it up, but 1 is probably sufficient.  Why put a website up if you are just going to lurk?  Just my 2 cents...

I don't think this is working - I see several new users who I haven't seen posts for with websites...

EDIT:  Never mind.  I was looking at a user's profile page.  The members sites page is fine  :)
