I made a midi with Anvil Studio and when I went into soundbox and imported the midi it put the beginning of the song before 0 (the starting point). When I hit the play button it would go backwards?
Anybody know what the problem is or have any similar problem?

Uh....did you save in the right MIDI format? (format 0 I think?)
-
And if that fails I have the source to Soundbox if you want it/know what to do with it.

I checked and that was not the problem.
Also, when I say it was "going backwards", i don't mean it played the song backwards, it wouldn't play it at all. If I put extra rests in, it would sometimes work...but that is not a good work around since I want the music to play when I ask it to play, not after a rest!
Very unusual!

Oh lol. That makes more sense.
Hmm, I don't know....that is a strange one.

2 Quick questions.
What OS are you running?
Can I take a look at the file, or a sample that reproduces this error if you do not want to share the original?

I'm using Windows XP profession SP2
I cannot attach the file because it is not supported by this website.

Got it, thanks. I see this issue on my end also but I do not have the time to investigate further yet. I should be able to give this a look-see tomorrow.

Thanks, no hurry

From a quick glance this does not appear to be in a proper format. According to Soundbox it has no length or a start cue.
If I use this terminology wrong I am sorry sound has always been my weak point =p.

I -think- I found the problem, or I do not know what the hell I am doing, either or!
Why does each note have a negative duration? It is at the point the note comes soundbox processes it as a negative time interval, Anvil Studio seems to ignore this.

How did that happen? And how can I change it?

Can I get a copy of this MIDI file?

Ok, this is weird. SoundBox must just wig out with some specific setting on this type of composed MIDI file. I just recreated your MIDI from scratch in Sonar and saved it as a new MIDI file and Soundbox still won't take it. I opened up other MIDI files I have without any problem at all. That's weird.
EDIT: I added some MIDI reset commands which set settings for the pitch bend sensitivity, pan, and volume and now SoundBox seems to read it no problem. I'll email you the new file.
