Title: Contest Results
Post by: Joey on August 26, 2004, 01:53:00 PM
Hello everyone and sorry for the delay. Ive been busy lately and havent had time to finish the judging. But finally, today I have finished! The results are in, and the winner is....

Chad Goulding! Congradulations. Excellent creativity. I liked all the games and it was hard to choose but Chad is the winner.

You can download all the games at over here: http://joekool224.tripod.com/id8.html

Thank you to everyone who entered, and sorry it took so long to judge.

Now Chad you can hold your own contest. You can change the rules around a bit, change the resources, or whatever you want to do, but it should still follow the rule of having to make a game with what you give people who enter.

I played all of these games, and I have to admit, that you, Joey, made a right decission - Chad game was the best. Congratulations.
That game had that kind of sparkle that the other ones hadn't.

I WON! YAY! :) :) :) :) :)

Having played the other games I'm surprised that Lost Eternity was picked!
Joe McMuffin was my favourite. Those subgames were awesome and the dialogue was really funny too.

Eigen's and Oliver's games were also really enjoyable. Oliver, I'm never going to be able to look at ducks and lollipops in the same way ever again :)

Thanks to Joey for taking the time to host the contest! If people want another contest, I'm happy to host one later on this year.

Chad

please host one so i can try  :D but like i said it was close. every game had something unique. eigens and olivers was funny, joe mcmuffin had a lot of time and effort that went into it, but lost eternity just had the creativness i was looking for because you had to use your brain and imagine what was going on.

anyway, once again, great job everyone, and thanks for your patience on the judging  ;D

'the quest for the record deal' & 'the journey of chef' made me laugh and 'lost eternity' made me wonder what just happened (in a good way)! congrats, chad.

great entries everybody (really sparkling) & chad, don't wait too long with hosting that next contest, because we've done enough waiting with joey as a host!

(i think it is safe to say that now)

I'm judging these games in a catagorial way, so now EVERYONE'S a winner!

Heh, B@dT@ste, your game ruled! I made about 25 pies wondering all the time, "How many of these things do I have to make?"Also, I thought at first you'd confused the ego view with a man. "Those are just pectoral muscles!"
That game wins the "Funniest and Best Mini-Game" category. And I liked the menu at the start.

Chad, your game was indeed surreal. This wins the "Mind-Bending-Confusing" catagory in my book. I spent ages figuring out what had actually happened, and it gave me a headache, so I stopped. It was very imaginative and a pretty cool game.

Oliver, your game was pretty fun. I laughed all the way through it. The ending reminds me of the one to Peasant's Quest. It wins the "Pretty Cool and Very Funny" category.

Eigen, Chef's Quest reminds me of a game an InfoCom type game I was going to make about 5 years ago. It involved a chef losing his job and trying to find a new one in the big city.
It wins the "Cool and reminds me of an idea of my own" category.

Woo! Everyone's a winner, baby. 8)

I'm going to be fairly busy this month (going on vacation, etc) so I thought I'd host the contest in October. The last contest worked pretty well so I'll probably keep things fairly similar.
