Hi Everyone,

Just a quick reminder to say that there's just under a week left until the contest deadline.

If you haven't decided to take part yet, there's still plenty of time to make a game - remember, its not the size that counts ;)

Anyway, all game submissions are due by the end of Friday.
Happy coding,

Chad

could you give us the EXACT date this is over. we might be in different time zones so it might mess us up

ah, good point.
the submission deadline is on Friday 22nd October.
Don't worry though, I'm not going to ban a game if i recieve it a few hours late.

Hi everyone,

The contest starts today!
Check out this link for details..

http://chadgoulding.port5.com/contest/

I decided to make the contest package much smaller in size this time so that it would take less time to make a game. Even really busy people should be able to have a go :)
The closing date is in 2 weeks time.

If there are any questions please let me know.

Good luck everyone!

Okay..

By my count thats 4 yes's and 2 maybe's.
Don't worry if you don't have much time. The contest is about creativity, so a short game with a good idea is worth far more than a long and lavishly detailed game.

Looks like enough people wanna play so I'll start the contest on Friday!

:)

Okie-dokie,

Its about time we had another contest!
I plan on keeping things pretty much the same as the last one. - i.e. make a game with the graphics provided within 2 weeks.

If you're interested in entering the contest could you please reply to this post. If there's enough interest (say 5 or 6 people) then I'll start the contest in the next few days.

Any questions, please ask.

Chad: Is there a certan date that you're gonna do the contest?
I just can't wait for another contest!:P

I'm going to be fairly busy this month (going on vacation, etc) so I thought I'd host the contest in October. The last contest worked pretty well so I'll probably keep things fairly similar.

I WON! YAY! :) :) :) :) :)

Having played the other games I'm surprised that Lost Eternity was picked!
Joe McMuffin was my favourite. Those subgames were awesome and the dialogue was really funny too.

Eigen's and Oliver's games were also really enjoyable. Oliver, I'm never going to be able to look at ducks and lollipops in the same way ever again :)

Thanks to Joey for taking the time to host the contest! If people want another contest, I'm happy to host one later on this year.

Time Quest is progressing. Now that I've quit my job I'm getting a lot more done :). I'm aiming to finish the game sometime before christmas.

Oh, and I recently made a walkthrough for the game and put it on the website (http://chadgoulding.port5.com)

Looking forward to the second demo! The PQ style driving section in the first demo was really good fun.

Make sure you remember to include lots of MagickPoultry humor - Tex McPhillip 2 is still one of the funniest games I've ever played!

Okay, I already asked this, but perhaps someone else will see this. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the UK PC Zone, this issue in particular. I'd really like to show it to my friends. My girlfriend is dying to see it.

I can scan in the page from the magazine for you. Or if you want, I can get you a copy of the magazine (I think its still on sale). Send me an email.

I was just browsing through the latest issue of PC Zone (a uk-based games magazine) and spotted a screenshot of FQ!

The magazine has an article on the 50 most controversial games ever and FQ appears at number 40 in the list.

For anyone interested, here's what was written -

40:F**KQUEST, 1998 PC
Moving, uplifting and quite brilliant, F**kquest has been sadly erased from the roll-call of point-n-click legends. A marvellous parody of Sierra's SpaceQuest adventures, playing F**kQuest was a powerfully erotic experience. An enchanting tale of a troubled man and his wayward penis putting aside their differences and looking for some slutty pixels to make love to, they truly don't make 'em like this anymore. Thank f**k.
