Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Character customisation errors.
« on: August 25, 2004, 07:05:30 AM »
Hey, I just recently wrote up this code, but it doesn't work properly. It is supposed to check s1 for a name, then go to the next label. It does all of this, but for one thing.
After the name part, when you push F8, the character portrait changes, so you can change how you look. Eg, race, hair color, etc. This doesn't work. it just stays at loop 0. (empty cel)
I've spent about 2 days figuring this out, but to no avail.
It's not a problem with setting the key, because using F8 in another logic works. I think it's just a nice little bug that I keep missing.

Code: [Select]
if (isset(f5)) {
  load.pic(v0);
  draw.pic(v0);
  discard.pic(v0);
  show.pic();
  animate.obj(o1); //Player Portrait
  load.view(3);
  set.view(o1,3);
  position(o1,8,50);
}
else{return();}

statsheet:
if (!isset(f17)) {
  goto(getname);
}
else {
  goto(hasname);
}

return();

getname:
text.screen();
status.line.off();
set(f17);
prevent.input();
get.string(s1,"What is your name?\n\n  My Name Is: ",1,10,16);
set.string(s2,"");
if (compare.strings(s1,s2)) {
  set.string(s1,"Rachley");
}
graphics();
goto(statsheet);
return();

hasname:
reset(f17);
set.text.attribute(0,15);
display(4,16,"%s1");
set.text.attribute(15,0);
draw(o1);
v70 = 0;

if (controller(c34)) { //F8
if(v70 == 0){ //Portrait loop no.
v70++;
set.loop(o1,1);
return();
}
if(v70 == 1) {
v70++;
set.loop(o1,2);
return();
}
if(v70 == 2){
v70++;
set.loop(o1,3);
return();
}
if(v70 == 3){
v70++;
set.loop(o1,4);
return();
}
if(v70 == 4){
v70++;
set.loop(o1,5);
return();
}
if(v70 == 5){
v70++;
set.loop(o1,6);
return();
}
if(v70 == 6){
v70 = 1;
set.loop(o1,1);
return();
}
}
return();

// Messages
#message 1 "What is your name?\n\n  My Name Is: "
#message 2 ""
#message 3 "Rachley"
#message 4 "%s1"
It's probably a blatant bug in there, but I don't see it. If it makes me look stupid, please be nice about it. ;D

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Picture Preference
« on: August 20, 2004, 07:12:02 PM »
Hey, what picture do you prefer? I've drawn 2 pics for the opening menu for my game, and I need to know what you think is the better one. The game is called SpellSwords.
This screen will be used like in KQ1SCI, with the Restore Game and Introduction buttons.

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Bad Object Number?!?
« on: August 20, 2004, 10:40:40 AM »
I'm doing some coding, and in this particular script I have to set up 23 objects. After 15 or so, I get a "Bad Object Number" when I test the code.
Am I using too many objects? Or is it something to do with memory or coding?

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Possible new bug in AGI Studio
« on: January 10, 2004, 08:36:59 AM »
I am running WinXP Pro SP1, and AGI Studio 3.18b's always worked fine, until recently.
I opened it up and it says that it's caused a fatal error, blablabla...
So, I decide to re-download it. That didn't work either. None of Nailhead's AGI Studio's are working. It seems to just be 3.14 that likes my system.
Any comments?

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Star Wars!
« on: October 19, 2003, 10:14:01 AM »
I started a new game, which WILL be completed (unless my HDD crashes again).

Star Wars Training, is an AGI game where you train to be a Jedi or a Sith, under the watchful eye of either Master Yoda or Darth Sidious.

You learn to handle a lightsaber, fight, use the force (dark side 8)) and fly Imperial or Rebel starfighters.

Here is a snapshot of the game.

Oh, yeah, if anyone can write me a sound resource for the theme of Star Wars, and the Imperial march, (they won't convert :() I'll be verry happy :)

Ok, it's a bit of a newbie question, but how/where can I change the color of the menubar? I know it's possible because I saw it in Pharaoh Quest.

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Fundraiser question
« on: April 26, 2003, 09:28:59 AM »
At another board I go to, I am making an AGI Game for the community. Someone there suggested I should sell it to them as a fundraiser for the upkeep of the main website, which is to do with US Emigrants (like my dad).
Could I do this?
It's just between a community that WANTS to buy it ???

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Wizaro v0.1 released
« on: March 18, 2003, 12:40:29 PM »
Hey, everybody. I've been working on a new game for a while now and I'd like to release it into the world. It's only 6 screens long, and if you get down the mountain, you've won :p
It's only a rough idea, but your wizard teacher is kidnapped by gargoyles, and you gotta save him, learning new spells and such along the way.
Anyway,
Enjoy!
ps. It's in the Games section.
pps. The realm is called Nichs Fabinterp :p
That's a little compliment to Nick's Fab Interp as it is the only interpreter able to run on my machine :D
