Mega Tokyo SCI Archive / Re:Extracting SCI3 / SCI32

Hi!
But now that I have the files... is there any way to convert them? Or even just play/watch them?
Simple graphics viewer for SCI1.1/32 available at same place where you found SCIResDump (probably), look for ViewsViewer there...

Hi!
Lsl7 is not hacked! It is an official translation by Akella!
You wrong. Akella never sold it officially. There is no any info about this game on Akella's website. This is very proof, but still `unofficial official` translation. ;)

Hi!
Is it (the russian lsl7) an official release or a hacked one?
Hacked one, but very well (mean: EXCELLENT) translated. Translated just everything (and voices of course) + jokes adapted to russian audience ;D
Anyway. Few days ago SoftClub company finished translating of Torin's Passage game and it's available in stores now. I didn't checked it out yet, but i guess it will be very good. 8)

Mega Tokyo SCI Archive / Re:SCI32 and Windows XP
« on: July 09, 2003, 12:47:52 PM »
Hi!
My main concern though, is getting lighthouse running, cuz it won't run at all. Just gives me a weird interpreter/script error, any way i can still get it to run on xp (and i've tried compatibility modes, they never do squat for me).
I had same probs with LH and Shivers2 on XP (but LSL7 works just fine there). On startup interepter crashes with error 105 in some script (don't remember exactly). DOS ports works just fine. But some times ago i played those games on XP without problems (on another machine). ::) I guess it's caused by too fast CPU leads to overflow/etc in scripts. No ideas how to fix that atm ???

Hi!

At first, thank you all for your feedback  ;)

Now my answers:
ok, one last question: how much harder is it to convert than decode? what i mean is, what about an option to convert vmds to a windows video format (like avi or mpeg)? Or is that way more advanced?
It's quite easy. It's even more simple than playing  :D I'll add .avi saving in the next release.

Hi!
I tried, but I couldn't get to the webpage.
The free hosting i'm currently use a bit unreliable outside russia. Sorry about this. If anybody wish to post VMD player or my other stuff on their pages, it would be quite nice.

Hi!
Shish really can't donate money. Many Russian people don't have credit cards.
That's not true. If he live in quite big city, it's not a problem to make a credit card in russia at all.

Others have cards that are not supported in Europe and USA.
Not supported?! Probably STB cards only...

Hi!
Looks great! I noticed that there is no sound support yet... do you have some preliminary sound code or would you like to "borrow" mine (which "almost" works)?
Actually, i coded all sound-decoding routines, except main playback engine... (Probably i can implement `disk-writer` atm) But i'll glad to take a look at your code anyway :)

Mega Tokyo SCI Archive / Re:What engine runs SQ6?
« on: June 14, 2003, 09:03:46 AM »
Hi!
Why SCI32? I played Space Quest 6 in DOS. It is another SCI version, and it is not compatible with standard Windows SCI interpreters.
Both DOS and Windows executables of SQ6 marked as `May 24 1995  2.100.002`. It's SCI32 v2.0 as you can see....

Hi!

Little update (i'm totally forgot about it). About 1-2 years ago one SCI games has been offically released in russia. It's fully localized game Phantasmagoria 1 published by SoftClub comany. You can find more info here http://russo.ag.ru/official/125/ Page in russian, but you'll find few screnshots and sound samples there.

VAG can i take a look at your decompressor?

I will release it today or tomorrow - need to finally test my SCI1/32 resource extractor. Also, i need to find a web space where i can put all my stuff...
Yesterday rewrote few parts of algo, now it works much faster than before. Also, i have rewritten PKWDCL unpacking algo, it may be useful for SCI1 unpacking.
