SCI Development Tools / Re: Importing BMP into SciCompanion problems
« on: February 29, 2024, 09:50:51 AM »
I'm having a problem with this feature in Vista in SCICompanion 3. I click on the "Browse" button to select an image, select one of my images (I've tried JPEG, BMP and PNG format) and no image is previewed on the left-hand side of the window and the controls are all greyed-out. If Vista is not supported any more then fair enough. I've also tried copying images from the clipboard (copying from Paint first) and that does seem to work.

Thanks for the advice - I wasn't aware that Wine was available for Mac. I still have a copy of Virtual PC 7 (on my G4) that I might also take a look at - I have a copy of XP and used to do some very amateur GameGear programming with MEKA installed in it.

The way that Sierra chose to implement both the AGI and SCI systems seems well ahead of its time, but I'm equally impressed by the effort that other individuals have made to make these tools available.

I'll see if I can get Wine working anyway and will post an update when I get a moment.

Thanks again,

Dodg

I've just got started with QT AGIStudio (Mac version) and am interested to know if there are any AGI games out there in active development. I haven't got massive amounts of free time at the moment but would like to try and get involved in a new project (if possible) or maybe one that's stalled and just needs a bit of TLC to get it out the door.

I'm from a programming background (not a gaming one though) but have been a big Sierra fan from day #1 and am now getting to grips with the logic programming - nothing major yet, but it now makes some kind of sense at least ;D I've chosen AGI over SCI for purely stylistic reasons, and also to try and keep things simpler while I'm still learning. That and the fact that SCI interpreters for Mac seem rather thin on the ground at the moment.

Thanks,

Dodg
