I believe Phantas 2 was about the only 16-bit colour SCI game too, no? I have a feeling all the others were 8-bit but I can't be sure.

There's a snowball's chance that they'll do something with old Sierra IPs and a higher chance that, if they do, it won't be favourable. I'm just tickled that so many high profile studio execs, gaming journalists, and YT/Twitch personalities are name-dropping King's Quest, Space Quest, and Quest for Glory all the sudden. Geoff Keighley, the host of The Game Awards, tagged Xbox in a Tweet saying that they should revive Freddy Pharkas and then revealed that he was a beta tester for the original in 1993. He then put up a Twitter poll (which can only have 4 options) asking what should be revived: Guitar Hero, Heretic/Hexen, Prototype, or Space Quest. Space Quest got 5.1% of the 80,302 votes but still. That's still about 4095 people voting. I just thought that was cool.

According to what NRS told me way back when, it's "basically" just amending audio data onto the end of the file. But I'm sure it has to change some header information too.

Is the issue with keyboard controls or mouse controls? I have control issues like that all the time with one of them and I have to use the other to actually trigger the boundary and trigger the next screen with KQ2SCI and I've never solved. Not without control colours to trigger it instead anyway.

Hurrah! Using a newly-built AGSUtils, I was able to extract all of the sprites from QFG4.5! They are stored in TGA format, which is supported by GIMP. This should make things significantly easier...

Nice! I just built it myself with cygwin. Hopefully they can extract backgrounds (and perhaps more importantly, priority masks), videos, and other content eventually.
