Just for fun how should I change that script...by the way another hour later I came up with a new way to do what I wanted to do...of course after your statement...but I still don't know what you are talking about either...

I am 60% done with my entry just need to put finishing touches on it...will hopefully have it in by Saturday Night....can you guys wait that long?

Still not sure if better than fish tank...but it will be my best attempt...

I actually banged out a yucky way to make it work using what was up there already and it seems to work good enough for now.

Now I need to make a deathhandler come up when I try to leave the room unless I have a certain amount of points any takers on what that script might look like:

Ok can someone put up a sample simple script showing how to make an object in my inventory appear on the screen after I say put key on table for example.  And then it comes out of my inventory...I need this to finish my game.

Ok that Fish game is pretty good, give me a few days to get my entry in and then we can call it quits...not sure if my graphics are up to parr with Cloudee's  but I am trying...

I will see what I can do about Tuesday night, that is my late night.  Did not finish game after sitting and working until I lost all feeling in my legs I decided to stop for a bit. 

This is much better that sci man...just more complicated that is all.

The whole mapping system I am talking about instead of east west north south....if it had thumbnail slides kind of like a power point where you put the pic screen(slide) next to it, it makes a spider web next to it or something...and that means go east to that screen....it sounds more difficult than it is because I am trying to explain the picture in my head and I assumed that you have seen the navigation bar in frontpage or something which shows you how screens are attached to each other...

Imaginge just drawing all of your screens and then having a master layout mapping screen which outlines which screen leads to which screen just by dragging and dropping the thumbnail image of the screen...(the preview picture) that is fine...just drop them next to each other....sorry....maybe we can chat about this one one day on chat....or maybe I cna attach a word doc or something I am much better at explaining things with word docs...

Hello Sci-Fans,

This coming from the long time player first time game developer...I stumbled on this site a month ago and have been hooked ever since...great job Cloudee1, now in the chat room we have decided to get some chatter, rumors, updates, whatever to get something going to increase membership...we want to get some interviews going with other programmers that have been successful...ideas/wishlist includes:

1)  Get Roberta Williams to chat with us for an hour or post an interview with her from one of our members.

2)  Get VonsterDMonster to join our site...and chat for an hour with our members, or have  a member interview him and post it on the web site.

3)  Get Bri_Da_Man, Brian Provinciano to join our community and chat with us for an hour, or let one of our members interview him and post it on our site.

First on our list will be to post an interview with our first game winner Doan Sephim...he is a mad game writer, if you have played his New Year's game or watched/played his Knight's Quest Demo you will know what I mean...keep your eyes posted for this interview....(it is just rumor....but I know some people that can make it happen)

Next we will see if we can meet the real Eigen, the creator of Al's Pond and a member of our site....

Ok it took me a while to actually figure out what sci companion was...now I get that it is going to replace sci studio so I better put my input in now...

1)  Can you possibly make a navigation screen similar to a website navigation that when you organize thumbnails of the pic shots then that is where the room will navigate to?

2)  Instead of having to go to main.sh and game.sc???? To add inventory items can there be a pop-up window to just add the words and that would write it into the code for us????  I know I want magic....but you coders are crazy smart and could probably do it.

3)  Maybe popup help hints...
Ex 1: In scripts When someone types wander for example a window pops up and reminds them to add the use wnader script to the top of the screen.
Ex 2: In scripts it gives examples of a successful script that you are trying to write such as (if said("open<door")) blah blah blah...I probably wrote it wrong but it tells you what this means...straight from Brian's tutprial it give a quick run down for what each said statement means...just a suggestion...

If you can do the above one....then make sure it is turn-offable I am sure the veterans will hate it kind of like the red hockey puck a few years ago...

4) Maybe a pop up window for said inputs that writes them into the script for you kind of like word art on microsoft word with maybe a spell/grammer checker for the pop up before it puts it into the script resource???

I am dumb to make these suggestions but they are a wish list I guess...I have no idea if it is possible...still just a dumb newbie but not bad huh????

I think you should delete our posts in this site...and lock it...I will make further inquiries through personal messaging....maybe add to bottom of what you have asking if people would like to write a simple walk through for newbies...and email it to you????

This area should not be repliable...because it looks so nice the way you had it...
