Only way I know of to get rid of it is to remake the view from scratch, copypasting each cel.

It's an option in the main menu bar:
View -> Remove embedded palette.

My "?" was because at first I assumed your 995 didn't have an embedded palette, since it doesn't show up in the preview. I might have a bug there!

[edit:] oh, it was because you marked all the colors "unused"

I'll convert them if nobody else will. What Kawa said is one example of SQ5's palette not being ideal; its greys are actually shaded blue a little bit which means it's impossible to get a true gray. The classic KQ5 palette, as I said, has a wider variety of colours that represent more than what SQ5's slanted palette does.

Ok, but let's wait until the resources are a little more stable. If kawa gets a few more views to me today, I can release the latest version of the template game later today. Just let everyone know when you're going to do it, so we know it's coming.

If you load KQ5's 999.pal into your game, and my icon bar/control views, in whatever order, those views won't be what makes your grays blue.

I know, I've done that myself. But that doesn't work for every View easily. The coin image, for instance, needs to be recoloured. But that can be easily done by copy/pasting, which finds the best matching colours.

Ok.

EDIT: Another case is that there is no set of cyan hue colours in SQ5's palette, which are replaced by an extended set from the "yellows" which fade into brown.

Oh yeah, a replacement for the coin would be nice too (it doesn't have to be a coin, of course... it would be easy to change the pay verb. Just something reasonable for a template game (probably not toilet paper) ).

For the time being we could just have "Test Object" like in SCI0 and make it a featureless box.

A broken blue cup  ;)

But I think the money should stay in the template as well... it is special and when I get it sorted out in the help me threads, it would serve as a good example for anything that you can carry multiples of. Ah, you'll see. that statement will make more sense when you see the post in the other board.

Here's a test object inspired by the SCI0 one, just gradient-filled. It needs KQ5's palette, though. I'll attach that as well, actually. kq5.pal is a general palette file that works with modern software, kq5_999_pal.pal is the SCI1.1 formatted palette.
