fangames page sorting

So until a little bit ago, the fan games page was sorted by id number, basicly the newest on top. Now as we get more games, and specifically JB2 as well as the JB2 Demo, I think it would be nice if they at least appeared close together, and even more so if we start getting agi games as well.

Anyway, now they are arranged in alphabetical order. What's the consensus on this. Are we cool with alphabetical or would we rather have them chronological, or maybe even by downloads.

Any thoughts.

Yeah, put my abomination at the bottom!  Seriously, sounds find to me - however an index at the top might be nice, with the game name/description & hyperlinked to the actual location in the page.

EDIT:  Actually, there really are not that many games, the index probably does not make sense...  scratch that.

I know right, Zork. lol but hey, my best one isn't far above it, maybe I should drop the "the" that would really move it up the list. I'd like to keep the newest ones up top but I really would like to see sequels together... maybe sorted like it is but a newest games section up top. I'm open to suggestions, you guys use the site too.

I think it's a really good idea for the new games to be at the top so it gets your attention.  Maybe all submissions for the last 30 days should be 'spotlighted' (like with the showcase).

Yeah I don't know about the 30 days part probably the most recent 4 or 5 depends on how many screenshots will comfortably fit. I might go ahead and mirror that on the homepage too, but that seems like the obvious solution.

How about a combination of alphabetical and date, i.e. mostly alphabetical, but a series would be sub-listed chronologically. You could have all of the games listed this way, but have a couple of featured games listed both at the top and in the full list. Your Black Cauldron could be listed as "Black Cauldron, The", just the way any alphabetical list of titles would be listed when the title begins with an article.

The AGI fan games will be a much larger task. ScummVM had a large archive of all known AGI fan games. The problem with it is that it was put together by someone on a non-Windows machine and many of the game folders within had illegal file names for Windows. This made these games not extractable with WinZIP or WinRAR. I was able to use 7-ZIP to rename them so they can be be extracted. It consists of 190 games.
