Doing some cleaning of the member list
« on: July 15, 2014, 01:43:12 PM »
So I am fooling around with the idea of doing a little housecleaning on the member list.

Any thoughts on whether or not I should go ahead and delete members who have not logged in for the last 6 months or year or whatever. Or should I just let it ride?

I would hate fro the likes of MI, Lance Ewing, Phil Fortier or Lars Skovlund to be deleted. How about just getting rid of the members that never posted or had only posted spam that was deleted. Looks like there are quite a few accounts with zero posts. I don't know about SMF, but phpBB allows to to prune users based on number of posts or by last post date. It is rare for spambots to get past my CAPTCHA Q and A challenge, but those that do get banned by IP and deleted right away. I have a number that join, but never post. Periodically I delete, but not ban the accounts that have no post count. Start with this and then see what the member list looks like.
