Works great, thanks! Except one thing, alt+n doesn't work when loading savegames (while all other keys do work), any idea why?
I.e. you have to leave the screen in order for it to work.

This is hiding many of the commands that were available. Alt+K did allow you to set specific skills. Alt+Gis listed as Set/Clear flagm, though I have not tried that

Not sure I understand.

If I:
  • Load a savegame
  • Click alt+m
Then it works. But if I:
  • Load a savegame
  • Click alt+n
Then nothing happens until I leave the screen and try again.
This new alt+n command is the only one there that seems to do that. I just ask why.

I'm not sure. I tested from "where to?" > "Go to Town" and I'm able to use ALT-n after saving and restoring several different times in both SVM and DOSBox.

Not sure about saving, but after restoring I can't use alt+n.

See attachments (one directly restoring from boot, and another after going to town and only then restoring). In both of them after restoring I have to exit the screen.

Something isn't adding up. Are you sure these saves were created after starting a new game using the latest patch? I looks like both of those save games were created more than a month ago. If that's the case, the game is restoring the old patch until the debug script is getting unloaded and reloaded by switching rooms.

Are you saying in general games that were saved before a certain debug function existed must be re-saved?
If so, how come alt+m does work?

That's the part that doesn't add up. If you're restoring an old version of the script Alt-M should not work until the script gets reloaded.

The thing with SCI patches is that usually it breaks saved games if the save was made in the same room/script as the patch modifies. The saves are storing all of the flags and variables at that point, including what is set at that point by the debug scripts. With these debug modes loading on game launch the new version may not work right with any old saves.

Yeah, that's true. I'm wondering if Lwc is using an older version of ScummVM because I believe the latest version would just crash.

No, I use the latest one that was released recently.

Anyway, restoring then immediately re-saving didn't change anything. I had to leave the room, come back and only then re-save.

Restoring and resaving will only save the same variables and flags as the first save had because they are  set by the first save right before the new save is made.

Annoying because I have the same situation in QFG4 but there my savegame is in the endgame so can't leave and re-enter the room...
Wish there was a "reset room" command (my interim solution was using ScummVM's debugger's room [i.e. teleport] command to take me to another room, then back).
