Restored Debug Modes
« on: September 16, 2023, 09:58:18 PM »
With the reenabling of debug modes of various Sierra games that have had them disabled, I was thinking that a full debug would be good to add to the SCI1.1 template game. It could include Kawa's SCI.EXE. For distribution it could be removed and Kawa's interpreter replaced with the SIERRA.EXE from the current template game for distribution of the game.

Also has anyone thought about adding these restored debugs to a repo somewhere?

I have a repo that's a mix of plain magic script exports, info, restorations, recreations and extended script debuggers. It's kind of a mess, but I've been adding all the stuff I've worked on there, like KQ6 and the SQ4CD debug port.

http://sciwiki.sierrahelp.com//index.php?title=SCI_Debug_Modes also misses many of these like QFG1VGA, QFG3, QFG4, plus it has the date of 2006 at the top and only admins can edit this wiki.

All the information about games such as the above was gathered for months or even years at TCRF's public editable wiki. In fact, it even has whole lists of rooms, items, flags, etc. for example https://tcrf.net/Category:Quest_for_Glory_series (note the Notes page of each game).

That's great I look forward to seeing what it becomes, if anything. I have been trying to gather debug files for a while now. I need to track them down again and add what I have recently gathered. If nothing else, I'd like to update the Wiki with all of the debug 'magic' files.
