SCI Community IRC channel

Okay guys, I went ahead and created an IRC channel for this community. Channel is located in FreeNode server and is named #SCI.

To connect, you need an IRC client.
mIRC
XChat
HIRC - Add a new server from Tools>Servers with address irc.freenode.net, port 6667 and name FreeNode. HIRC is free with no registering.

Once you have the client and you're connected, type "/join #SCI" to enter the chat room.

You could also try irc://irc.freenode.net (Copy this into the address bar) and it should run the default IRC client if one is installed. Hopefully I'll see you there!

Yeah, but both of those cost money after 30 days. I know mirc used to just be free, does anyone have any old versions laying around.

Otherwise You won't see me there much I'm afraid.

Yeah, the registration costs, but my mIRC version has passed the 30 day limits ..I dunno, maybe a year ago. Now I just have to wait about 5 seconds until the Continue button becomes active and I can use it normally. I have v6.16. It's available here for example.

I just installed a new chat, updated the links, and added the users chatting to the forum stats. wanna test it?

I haven't made it blue, but it is already a little more impressive than the last one.

I tried Eigen, but it won't connect, giving me timeout errors instead. Windows firewall asked me, and I told it to unblock hirc...

I added a couple of links just above the banner area. One leads to the main site and the other leads to the forum index. Now you shouldn't have to log out anymore.
