So do we still need to make 36 different variables? That seems to be the bottom line, if I am understanding correctly, which is fine...it will probably take up more heap than I would like (as well as be mindnumbingly boring ;))

I have a puzzle board with 36 (4 3x3 squares) squares. Some of the squares are "holes" that the character can fall into. Every move, the holes are supposed to shift down. I need to program the script to recognize which square the player is on and whether or not it is a hole. I can figure it out if I have 36 individual variables representing each square, but I was just trying to find a less cumbersome way about it.

How did that happen? And how can I change it?

This is all very interesting, though I am not sure I quite understand all of it. I am guessing I will just have to use 36 different variables for what I need to do... :( That just seems unnecessary to me...

SCI Syntax Help / Can a variable have multiple values?
« on: December 02, 2010, 02:34:42 PM »
This seems like something I should know, but I haven't programmed in a while. Can a local variable have 2 or more simultaneous values, say 4,7, and 10?

Uh....did you save in the right MIDI format? (format 0 I think?)
I checked and that was not the problem.

Also, when I say it was "going backwards", i don't mean it played the song backwards, it wouldn't play it at all. If I put extra rests in, it would sometimes work...but that is not a good work around since I want the music to play when I ask it to play, not after a rest!

Very unusual!

SCI Syntax Help / Problems with Soundbox

I made a midi with Anvil Studio and when I went into soundbox and imported the midi it put the beginning of the song before 0 (the starting point). When I hit the play button it would go backwards?

Anybody know what the problem is or have any similar problem?

NO WAY! I have been anticipating this game since I first discovered SCI Studio!

I thought it would never see any kind of release!

I know what I'm doing with Thanksgiving break ;)

EDIT: The game so far is great. I'm at about 60 puzzle points. You are right about it being linear, but it's still fun and the humor is nice! I like how you change the menu bar every now and then to tell you how much oxygen you have. Good stuff! Music also is really nice!

I've only noticed 1 bug and 1 spelling error, which I think was when you're breaking out of jail. The bug is at the beginning of the game where you walk up the stairs of the house. When I turned immediately and walked right I walked into the top part of the screen. When I walked back, it sent me downstairs and I was trapped.

Thanks a lot guys! It is quite exciting.

I do long to have all my hard work finished into at least something playable. Everytime I play through what I have it seems so short for how much work I have done! It's unbelievable!

That's fair. I have to admit there is nothing to say about it...I am still around the forums, but I haven't worked on the game in at least a year...Work, school, and engagement has taken me out of it for a while.

I got it! Will play it in a little bit  :D

I haven't been able to download the file...Well, I should say I download it, but when I try to extract the files, it says the file is corrupt.  ???  :'(
