Well Ron, I'm pretty far from being any kind of artist myself, except mayeb a bad one.

The only tip I can really give you is this. For most of my screens I sketched down what I wanted the screen to look like on paper first, and then used PICEDIT to try to reproduce my idea. Then I colored it and slapped it into the game.

Creating screens is very tricky, and can be rather tough. A few of my screens I used teh trace option in PICEDIT, pulling in a picture converted to PCX format at a certain size. Then traced over it in PICEDIT. It actually works remarkably well.

Basically it's trial an error. But if all else fails, you can try the trace option. Start looking through books, comics books, whatever, and find stuff you might want to use, scan it, convert it to PCX and pull it into PICEDIT and create your screen.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Aaawwww, isn't that special. Now he's talking to himself.

Greg ole buddy, we're with you. Hang in there pal, one day somebody other yourself will talk to you. I just know it.

You're still cool in our books, really you are. I mean anyone who can produce two great games like those two Handyman games, and be working so hard on a third is just an all around winner.

Can't wait to play Handyman III Greg, and Handyman II, and Handyman I. You keep up the great work Greg, we'll all be praying for you.

Well I've downloaded every AGI Demo or Game out there, including Justin's Quest, and I've never come across any Handyman game. And I've looked.

But I think we should let Greg (or whatever his name is) have his fun, even if he is Delusional. A healthy fantasy life can be a good thing after all. We should be supportive of the Gregster and his little problem.

So let's hope Greg and his two games, and third on the way, are all happy and healthy in the land of Pink Clouds and Furry Trees. So Greg old chum, say hello to the Purple Dinosaur, the Flying Elephant and Boboyobo the Talking Chimp for us. And watch out for the Green YumYum Puffs, I hear they make you sick.

We can't wait for Handyman III. So hurry up and finish it. I hope the windows to the padded room are big and bring in lots of sun. You'll need plenty of light to work on that new game. You AGI genius you.

Well Jimmy D, or MagickPoultry, I downloaded Tex Mcphilip 2 and I have to say, pretty cool. I don't agree with some of the stuff in it, but it's a work of fiction and that matters about as much as an Orat on a stick. Besides I also liked some of the stuff, but I'm a sick puppy and therefore won't go there.

The game is complete, with multiple chapters, some decent puzzles and I enjoyed it. I do hope more people at least give it a try. I know some people will probably get upset by some things, but it's just a game after all, and as games go I think it was a good job.

Taken for what it is, in my opinion, it was a pretty nice little game, and I had fun playing it.

I hope you try another some time.

Hey David, don't know exactly what happened to this thread, but I won't bother trying to figure it out.

Anyway, it's good to know that Dave's Quest is still on track. Be sure to keep us updated on it's progress.

Good luck.

I think you need to set f31, for ego to cycle while not moving :)

Then reset it after you use the end.of.loop command.

I'll take a look at it :)

Mind if I ask why you're giving Soul Quest the ole AXE?

You could just develop the story some more and proceed with the game. There's no reason to dump the whole idea.

Jsut asking   ???

Space Quest: The Lost Chapter IS an Unofficial game. Though I did it in part to celebrate Sierra's AGI games, (in other words in Omage to them), I never had permission from them to make it.

"Did you mean that DGmouse is a junk game not a quality game?"

I think Bokkers was trying to say that we are all here still enjoying AGI games, including games like DGmouse, hence proving the quality and longevity of both the old AGI games, and the NEW Fanmade games (like DGmouse.)

I think enough people will play the game my friend. There are enough of us around here who still love to load up a new AGI adventure.

Hmmmm, that's weird, I thought it was well over a decade since I was 10, or 12, or 15 for that matter.

Weird. But I'll leave my opinions on Sex and Love out of this. Not there is anything wrong with either, but what I think has long since ceased to matter to the world at large, so judge for yourselves I say.

Well since this is the place to get help, I'm going to try to explain this problem here.

I've been fiddling with a game and created a small mini-game within the game. So when Ego does something in screen A, the mini-game starts up (with screens C, D etc). The mini-game seems to be working ok, but then when it's time to exit the mini-game, back to screen A, the game freezes. Seizes up. No response what-so-ever. I'm just at a loss as to why this is happening. The funny thing is I have another mini-game at another screen (let's say screen B to make this easy), which starts up, functions, and exits back to screen B with no problem. The mini-game that gives the problem is a lot more memory intensive than the one that works, but I still can't find a reason why it just locks up (before getting to screen A by the way).

If anyone can help me, please offer your ideas. I've been banging my head against this wall for too long. I think I have a concussion.

Thanks.

Good to have you back Rainer.

I have run across a strange problem with something I'm working on. If you're willing to try to help let me know and I'll drop you an e-mail.

This goes for anyone who thinks they can help me by the way. This particular problem, which might be something really simple, has stumped me for weeks now.

Thanks.

I down loaded the file and unzipped it. But when I try
to play the game, the screen is overlapping and only
shows about 1/4 of the screen. It makes the screen
show only 1/4 of the screen as if the screen should be
2 foot by 2 foot? I have a compaq presario 2700 with a
1.13ghz pIII. Please tell me what to do.
P.S. I also have the same problem with my older games
of space quest.

Hope to hear from you soon

Bret
