on the ags board they had a comp where someone would post a pencil sketch of a background, and everyone had to do their impression of that sketch.  maybe we could do something similar here.

I reckon there should be a rule - if you havent got anything nice to say, then dont say anything at all.  Ie if someone asks a stupid question, instead of giving vindictive answers, either ignore them, or nicely direct them.

the lake screen is west of the derricks(there is a gap between the snow)

not sure if this is the problem, but check you dont have stuff like set.horizon(40), and also you may want to ignore.obj(o1) (I think that's the command) to make it ignore the priority of the object so that it can pass through anything. hope that helps.  let us know if it works.

I already knew all that stuff in the trivia section. I wanted to know why only some parts were done in hi res.  I dont think it is obvious at all.

I know that pq: open season was made around the time sierra made the transition from vga to svga, but can anyone explain to me why the graphics are really weird?  I mean, the main character view is pixelated, and some of the screens, are hi-res in sections, and low res in others (eg: some signs are clear and other parts of the same screen are pixelated).  The other thing is, has anyone noticed that the elevator music is the same as the lobby music from lsl6?

mods: I think you should make this thread sticky, and we can add to it whenever a new full game is released.

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Poll: Where are you from?
« on: April 17, 2004, 11:54:47 PM »
This has probably been done before, but I'd be interested to see what makes up the AGI community.  If you like, you can specify a country too.  I myself am from Australia.  Excuse me if I left out your continent.

It says " I see myself and move me aside" - sounds like a mirror or sth. "
thats the second time you've used the word "sth"  is that an abbreviation for something?  or is it a typo?

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / Re:Help with PicEdit
« on: January 15, 2004, 10:18:18 PM »
to convert a pcx to a picture, try using the program called 'vector' it is available from the links on this messageboard.  If it is a photo, or something with lots of detail, it may not convert too well.

The background feature in picedit is only for tracing - ie you load in a photo and trace over it in picedit (pressing F10 turns the picture on and off). The image has to be 320x168 with 256 colours. Really, there is no 'easy' way to get a bitmap type image into a vectorised one. I use the latter method mentioned above, and a little patience.

Hope this helps.

I must say great game so far, excellent technicals, good graphics, average sound(although I appreciate original music). Overall a very original AGI game.  I cant wait to  play it properly all the way through.

Mega Tokyo AGI Archive / back on the scene...
« on: January 07, 2004, 06:53:30 PM »
hi everyone.  after about 2 years of disappearance, i am finally back on the AGI scene.  My name is Rainer De Temple, most of you older AGI doods should remember me, I started on the scene back in 1997. I am the author of Escape Quest(the demo), and Pharaoh Quest(also a demo).  Anyway, a lot has happened in my life, and now things are finally calming down again to give me enough time to get back into AGI games creation.  SO, now I am continuing my efforts on the two games mentioned above, with pharaoh quest at about 50% and escape quest still at about 25%.  Hopefully, you should be seeing newer demos(or even full versions) of these games soon(ie in the next couple of months). I am really excited about pharaoh quest - I am hoping to astound the AGI 'community' with some of the advanced features I have added.  It plays more like an SCI game than an AGI one.  Anyway, I'll stop ranting now.  If anyone has _any_ AGI related questions, either about my games or other, please feel free to email me and hopefully I can help you.

PS.  Might have a new webpage up soon too. ;D

You missed two of my AGI programs - AGI Piano, and Pharaoh Quest Demo.
You also missed Speeder Bike Challenge by Randy Dykstra.
