Quote from Brian:

"There's PCX2PIC, but no RAW2PCX2PIC that I know of. PCX2PIC is an AGI utility. "

CORRECTION:

Yes there is a utility for SCI, Brain. You are wrong about that one. Check the download section in your website.

See??? No offense to you but I think you have insulted my intelligence by saying that I am wrong when it is actually you that is wrong. So help me out if u can but plz don't knock me down by insulting me just because I may have insulted you by accident. I simply want to make use of the engine that you worked so hard on. I'm even thinking about giving donations too.

Brian, I really need the PCX2PIC and I don't have time to argue about the quality with you. The reason that I need it is because the PIC size is too big right now and if I convert it into a PCX and then convert it back into a PIC this picture will be a small enough size to fit in my game. Now plz I ask that you send it to me. This game will not be made if I do not get this program so plz help me out. My email address is:

y9k_compatible@hotmail.com

I hope you understand why this is so essential to the development of my game. I am ABSOLUTELY sure about this and if you want to argue about it with me then go ahead, but I assume you understand. Thx man.

I can't download this file and I really need it. It is an essential resource for the development of Camp Quest. Is there any chance that anybody could send it to me? This would be greatly appreciated.

uhh loose files? I'm kind of new and I guess I'll have to read the tutorial but -- what do mean by loose files? I'll be sure I don't have any of that (whatever it is) and I think the problem is that the picture size is too big because whenever I go a couple steps back in the picture and crop, the file size reduces, therefore allowing the game to work. So, now I'm trying to download PCX2RAW2PIC to fix this problem but I can't seem to download it.

Thx. I'm glad you like it. You can expect it within the month if I can ever get that PCX2RAW2PIC program to download (which I doubt) :(.

Note: You have to copy & paste that URL in your address bar manually or it won't work.

I got a screenshot from the game that I am currently working on. It's called Camp Quest.

You can find the screenshot at:

http://ags_user.tripod.com/scene1.gif

I will need some help with scripting later on when I am done with all the graphics. This scene took about me about 12 hours to make (not too long, really) and I expect to make a lot more. If you'd like to help me out please email me at:

Yes, that's it. That's the problem. And I've been experimenting with it a little and I've discovered something most odd. When it's at 15kb it puts the picture on the bottom of the screen so that you can only see the very top of the picture. It also takes a few seconds before it does this. It is really odd.

Mega Tokyo SCI Archive / Background picture never loads... ?
« on: August 07, 2002, 08:53:32 AM »
Ok I got a background picture that never loads everytime I run the game. It just freezes at the intro scene giving me the hand/waiting cursor. I have tried replacing this picture with other pictures and it works just fine whenever I do so. However, when I replace it with this picture, the scene doesn't load. It is 27kb. I can edit it and view it just fine in SCI Studio, so I don't see what the problem is. Is there some kind of picture file size limit that I don't know about?

wth... Brian! argggg... I'm so mad. Your program screws me over when I am drawing. This is not funny. It's like the damn program is alive and it wants to make a hell out of my life. Well, you know what I say to that, F@#% that because I lost a lot of work because of that bs. Plz fix these bugs as soon as possible. These bugs include:

1) Engine freezes if you undo too many times.

2) Cut & Paste is screwy. It puts the outline that the selection makes whenever you use it.

3) I just lost one of my views for some unknown reason so now I gotta do it all over again just because you messed up while you were programming. Thanks a lot.

This is as specific as I can get. Pretty much all the editors have bugs but I'm not going to get into all the details. What I just explained pissed me off very much and I am sorry to notify you that your program is screwy.

I sincerely apologize if I offended your program in anyways. Keep in mind, I am using it which means I am glad you made it. Just fix it up so I can actually use it without being screwed while doing so. Thanks.

Well I've seen games where they use the color white. How did they do it?
