Actually, I think the word IF implied that this was a possibility.  And following the thread, it continued onto his posibility of finding this through a classic gaming site...

Just trying to find the path that led him here.

I have been able to use some of the resource management software and SCI related utilites.  But they all seem to not be able to find all the resources that are compressed into the resource.001 file.

Each program reports that it cannot find a different resource (could have something to do with the type of resource utility).

I can see that the file contains script, pic, bitmaps, text, and other...

I was hoping that Brian might be able to help me out, he seems to be the resident SCI expert (outside Sierra).    :)

DOES ANYONE HAVE A CLUE OUT THERE?  Thans

Sorry to burst your bubble but this board isn't just about AGI and SCI, it also has os programming... infact this board was an os programming board... then one day df added AGI and SCI sections to it.

What exactly was this in reference to?

Even though... I have been to classicgaming.com and never really noticed the link until I searched for it.

AND!  Since he is a fan of the new 3d styles, why would he be looking at a classic gaming site?

Again, something to think about.

My point is, if he is such a follower of the new technologies, why would he care about 80's gaming?

I have done a great deal of searching and there isn't much information to be found.  If I could just figure out what compression was used on the resource file, that would be a great help.  I know it contains .BMP, .WAV and script files within it, I just don't know what decompression to use (software).

Is is a screensaver, it looks like it uses a modified SCI.  It has a resource.map and resource.001 file.

Why can't I stay logged in?  geesh!

SCI is dead,

i dont know why you people bother making these low-quality games. BUT if you are that desparate, then do whatever you like. But i think everybody should look into the future (3D).

As for you Brian...continue making SCI Studio, but as i said (SCI is Dead!) but if you are going to make SCI Studio VGA, i recommend you put in support for 32 Bit Colour, not the crappy 256 colours with the current free adventure game engines (www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk for one is the crappyest engine ever, it's surposed to have Win XP support but it doesn't really!)

Seriously, make support for more clours, but keep everything else the same as the usual sierra SCI games!

But after you finish SCI Studio VGA i recommend you give up SCI & build something Bigger & better!

ciao.

What I find amazing is this...  Somehow this guy found this site, which means he was either searching for information on SCI games, or an actual classic Sierra SCI game.  So, if he is such a great fan of the 3D genre, why is he searching for SCI games?

Something to think about...
