The best bet for SCI Studio if Brian really wants to release source code would likely be to make SCI Studio an Open Source project, though.    ;)
SCI Studio already is fully open source and licensed under the GNU GPL (like all the software on his site). You can download the latest source code from http://www.bripro.com/.

There's an article on XOR encryption at http://www.cprogramming.com/tutorial/xor.html.

If you have trouble understanding it, or need an explanation of something .... just ask and I'll try and explain. It can be pretty confusing at times.

Puting it simply though, to decrypt an XOR-encrypted structure, you would simply need to XOR the decryption key with every byte in the structure (if the key is smaller than the size of the structure, which is usally the case - then you start XOR-ing from the beginning of the key again).

It adds and removes files and even changes the structure to match the new one.

It will make their copy 100% identical to my copy including the new scripts in the scripts directory. Basically it compares directories and files and makes the patch file add/delete/modify the structure to match your changes to the program.

I will have to find the site again, and yes it is free. They also have installers, and game making tools and other cool things.
Had any luck in finding the address of this site? I'm still very interested in getting this program and seeing what it can do.....

Actually I have a program that makes patches for programs. I can have it compare the original and the fixed version and then it write's the patch. Then it will apply to patch to the original which means they will have to already own SQ4.
Is this program free, what's it called, and where can i get it ??

I like it.

You could use original background / character graphics from Kings Quest 6 (with slight improvements / additions, and maybe a few new ones for new places in the game), unless you can draw better graphics than that. I think that having the old Kings Quest 6 style and feel to the game would be nice, but that's up to you.

I don't like the idea of selecting two different "routes" of the game at the start. Why involve Cassima's parents at all in the game? Just leave them out. But you could put in something like two (or even more, although it'd involve quite a bit of work) possible endings (like in Kings Quest 6);

As someone said, it's a interesting idea - but can definately use some work.
