The TBC source code has been archived here:

https://github.com/historicalsource/the-black-cauldron
The game proposed by Historical Source seems to be the atypical version mentioned by @AGKorson here: https://sciprogramming.com/community/index.php?topic=2113.msg16036#msg16036

It does not appear to be versions 1.1J, 1.1K, or 1.1M: https://i.ibb.co/LzrfXPyX/readme.png

Interpreter version 2.272 can?t be a booter. The booter used GAL (which I *think* was called AGI0 also?).
Hello lskovlun,

That?s interesting, I didn?t know there were stages between PRE-AGI and AGI, it seems to be GAL/AGI0.

As for TBC, we have the source code for it! - so we know that it builds on regular AGI, at least.
That's good news for my translation projects. Has the source code of The Black Cauldron been publicly released? If so, do you have a link?

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me :)

My title says 'rare', but I could have used 'untraceable' or 'nonexistent'. I don't know.

Please, I would like to know if the following games exist on standard PC DOS or only on PC BOOSTER and PCJr?

They are:
-King's Quest 1, Game version 1.0U, Interpreter version 2.272.
-King's Quest 2, Game version 1.0W and 1.1H.
-The Black Cauldron, Game version 1.1J, 1.1K, and 1.1M.

I sent a MP to @lance.ewing, but he hasn't been around for a while; I hope he's doing well. I'm just a simple translator and I don't have your knowledge; I hope you can provide the answer.

P.S.: I'm testing the existing versions: https://github.com/Thpwg/AGI-SCI-index If you see any mistakes on my part, please feel free to point them out, and I will make the corrections.

The vendor offers an impressive collection of Asian games, including many Sierra games! There are some very recognizable official Japanese versions, but two other games IBM PC catch my eye: Police Quest 2 and Hoyle Classic Card Games, also with the Soft-World logo.

Hi OmerMor,

I didn't know the GitHub page of the source code.
This is an MS-DOS version:

The version number and version interpreter are not referenced in AGIWiki.
Game Version 1.5 and Interpreter Version 2.440. It appears to be the 1987 DOS version.
It's the most amazing thing!

Hi everyone!

I have a specific question. As a translator, is there a DOS version of Donald Duck's Playground that is compatible with WinAGI? Because a PC Booster image won't be, even if I managed to extract the resources... well, I imagine.

I've been told "there is" a site specializing in Sierra PC Booster game images. I searched without success. Maybe it's closed.

Thread in the old Mega-Tokyo AGI forum archive here:
https://sciprogramming.com/community/index.php?topic=2612.msg19120#msg19120
As the thread was closed, I opened a new one.

AGI Wiki: http://agiwiki.sierrahelp.com//index.php/Donald_Duck%27s_Playground

In the worst-case scenario, I thought I'd translate the game proposed by Al Low on his site. But is not an official release, is was Amiga hacked for DOS. In addition, debugging is essential. This version will crash if you press Escape with "Bad action: 161" when it should pause the game. This problem is corrected via ScummVM only.

Note that ScummVM 2.8.0 recognizes the game as 1.0C Amiga and DOS. The version 1.0C is an Amiga version, not a DOS version. It's a little ScummVM arrangement, I suppose.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Collector for Sierra Version Tool.
AGKorson for WinAGI, without which nothing is possible.
My friend Doomlazer for... almost everything :)

Hello Collector,

Indeed it changes everything. When I will have finished the sorting of my Sierra versions, I will send you directly the games that I did not manage to visualize with Sierra Version Tool. There won't be many, I think. I was hoping to find the few Japanese Windows editions I'm missing, so that you can reference them in the database, but they seem to be very rare indeed.

All the beauty of the period manuals comes out with the restoration. I look forward to seeing your QFG2 map!
