cant create new scripts?

I've been trying to make new scripts, I did it once when I was doing the tutorial.  I went over the tutorial and I still can't do it.  When I look in the src file I see it, but I dont see it in sci studio.  When I try to add the resource it says "invalid sci resource"  I have tried in both 1.3 and 1.4.  What is another way of making a new script??
