And I experiment to working an agimouse game with no typing in command. It may look like SCI games, you know an icon for walk, and icon for look, and so...

Its good im new but im working on a good agi game. Agi WONT go out of style.

I agree with Hig that AGI is not going out of style. I have a 7 year old cousin who likes to play AGI games I use them to help him learn how to read. He especially likes Space Quest 2.

Hi.

Many feedbacks from french players I got said that they knew a little or not of all about agi games. Some of them said the typing in command is out of date.

So I'm working an sci like game using agimouse. Thanks Brian Provinciano. Save game. Restore game. Quit game is working using a mouse (I talk about my agimouse game in progress).

Now. I will have to deal to rewrite the inventory system.

I don't think the typing interface is out of date.

Maybe AGI's version of it where the game doesn't stop while you're typing.  There needs to be some sort of connection with the mouse and discovering new verbs.

I don't like how all the possible verbs are spelled out for you or there's just an "action" button.  There should be some exploration, not just clicking everything on everything else.

I saw the agi community does not like to see the agi interpreter any changes. 256 colors, mouse support,...

But I saw more complete ags games than agi ones. Maybe the ags community is bigger than agi community.

Back in 80s, when you bought an agi game from sierra, a command list is enclosed with the manual.

It's more easily playing the game using a command list.
With the fanmade games, it's more harder to play.

Sierra had more complete verb lists in their games I believe.  They also had suggested verbs in the manual.. but it wasn't complete.  i think they also suggested that they explore.

Fan-made games need to use the log() command to make a list of all the commands that don't work.  Somebody suggested on the Sarien list that they incorporate this but it's not necessary.. Just bung a log() command into the logic to mark the words, the scene and anything else..

What would be good is another messageboard area for the fan games.  People could post suggestions for new verbs and the author could add them in.

hey

personally i reckon the agi interface is the best because you have to be genuinely good at adventure games to pass them. i recently started playing the dig (probly the only adventure game in history i havent finished) and it is so damn easy  cos all u need 2 do is click on things. there isnt even any icons or nuthin its just click.

i think the thing that makes agi harder is that u have to think of what to do. in scumm and sci, all u do is try everything and its easy. thats why those games use object combinations more. but u can still just try everything with everything
