Back in development: V - Resist or Perish
« on: March 22, 2025, 05:33:20 PM »
Howdy folks,
it's been a while... Good news everyone: The V adventure game is back in development. Release is set for december 24 2025. Demo 2 was well recieved back in 2002, so the final game will expand on that, while Los Angeles is going to be restructured to be more realistic and feature more prominent landmarks all over town.

No idea if Ed, Chris and Vonster are still around. Anyone heard from them lately?

Cheers and thanks to everyone for keeping the forum going in 2025!

That's great to hear - but I have no idea who those people you refer to are. So probably not?

Yeah, that's great to hear. I was always very impressed with the demos for V, so I'll be looking forward to the release.

Not sure if you're aware yet but I released an AGI interpreter for the web last year. You can see your old demo in action here:

https://agi.sierra.games/play/v-the-graphical-adventure/

Regarding your original co-authors, I haven't seen them on this site. Tbh, not many of the old AGI folk have been around here since the AGI forums were added here about 15 years ago. Not sure if it is that they're not aware of this site or not interested anymore. If you make contact with them, you should encourage them to join.

Chris Cromer is listed as one of the designers in the demo's readme. He has been here, but not recently.

Thanks for your feedback folks! Nice to hear people remember the game after 20 years of absence. :) Will contact the other dudes directly via mail.

Thanks for the AGILE link. Very neat project.

And thanks again for Picedit Lance! Still using the good old DOS version, works like a charm.

Thanks. I'm glad that people are still using the old DOS version  ;D.

Cheers from the workshop everyone! Here's an AGI rendition of Stevie Wonder's Sir Duke for your enjoyment:

PMKelly, thanks for your work on AGI Studio!

I remember this - was quite excited for it at the time. I should blow the dust of some of my old AGI game projects... Approaching nearly 30 years now wow.

I remember VonsterDMonster by name only...

It's weird a lot of people on this forum I don't recognise from the old days, but can't fight the feeling we're all still the same people just with different usernames (Mine's still the same - you can find some cringey posts of mine from when I was 16 on MegaTokyo forums back in the day)
