Now here, you just want to assign 'button' to the last Print value, e.g.:

= button    Print(
"Do you want to click Yes or No?"
    #title "Click What?"

Chris - Where did you get the black and white driver? Sounds cool :P

* Steven Melenchuk also makes a mental note to grab this EGA640 driver from his copy of QFG1...

Just an interesting thought...

Would there be any way for this to work in reverse, e.g. get your WinSCI1 game to work under DOS SCI1? This might give some insight into how WinSCI1 actually handles things...

This sounds interesting... but how are you going to coordinate all of the areas into a single game? You'll need to find some sort of common theme holding everything together, and a way to end the game and explain how all of the different areas fit in...

Give it some thought, people, this could turn out to be great ;)

I don't know about everyone else, but SF1 will contain not one, but THREE booklets with it when it's done. :P

Mega Tokyo SCI Archive / Two more odd bugs in SCI Studio?
« on: September 02, 2002, 04:35:02 PM »
1) The removal-of-cel-0 bug lives on, but in different form! This seems to be somewhat erratic, but sometimes when adding a new loop to a view, cel 0 of loop 0 will be deleted.

2) On a not-quite-related note in the View editor, when editing a loop that's a mirror of another loop, occasionally some or all of the cells in the source loop will take on the appearance of their equivalent cells in the edited loop before the editing takes place.

2) sounded a little unclear, so I'll give an example...

Take Template guy. Go to loop 0, and start modifying the view. Switch over to loop 1, and lo! The cel 0 you see isn't the mirror of your newly-changed cel, but the exact same as cel 0 of loop 0... even the same orientation!

Both of these bugs seem to be erratic, but they ARE annoying. ;)

Personally, I'd suggest locking this topic before it gets out of hand...

See: King's Quest 4, the mansion at night w/ the ghosts. It seems to me that they can wander from room to room, so I know it's possible...

The best way I can think of to do this is to somehow keep calling the actor's motion script when it's outside of the room.  Of course, this would require the actor to be a global object, and the code to switch it from room to room would also have to be contained within the object.

Heh... we're all like that at first.
Then we start figuring out what the (not-so-)cryptic statements like isset(f5) are, and then it clicks, and you can start reading screens full of code like they were pages from a book...
...hmm, I've gotten off topic here somewhere, haven't I? Oh well.

If the title moves, it's best to make it an Actor so that you can use the Motion code.

Is it just me, or does this thread seem a little off the original topic by now? ;)

...oops, my bad.
Well, that still leaves 256-168 = 88 colors :P
