I really don't think that QFG contained any part that AGI isn't capable of handling. I've never seen any attempts of RPGs with AGI, but it did occur to me that making a whole new game layout similar to Final Fantasy may be possible and interesting to persue using AGI.

Hi David.

If you are good in programming in agi. You'll make it since QFG 1 EGA (Hero's quest) and QFG 2 are done from Sierra. Theres games are typing in command.

If you want to making QFG using mouse, I suggest to you to wait for a little untill I launch my first agi mouse game very coming soon.

But the agi community may hate this game because it uses a mouse. Theirs opitions will not stop me to making this game.

Hi there,
an rpg in agi would be nice.

I had exactly the same thought. the graphic capabilities of AGI would go fine for a rpg. remember the faery tale adventure from the amiga? AGI would be a cool interpreter for a game like this.

Why should anyone hate you for that? Or do you make a game completely without command line?  ;D
but even then it would be nice to see a game with a new interface. AGI is kind of old, but extremely flexible. I think its always great when people try new things in agi.
So keep us updated about the game.

I had lots of Amiga games and I can't think of any RPG types. At the time I believe Nintendo had claimed most of the RPG titles (although my memory may be rusty). The only faery tale adventure that comes to mind is "Legend of Kyrandia". At the time KQV had just come out with thier point-n-click interface and made Kyrandia look like a joke, although I still had fun playing it.

Here's the humorous background story on that.

As far as incorporating a mouse into an AGI game, I think it's great too! I love to see AGI pushed to its limits. I say good luck to you, and I'll look forward to it. :)

Hi Bokkers

Look at "Hey everyone" messages and you understand why.

My agimouse game looks like sci games with talk icon, speak icon, look icon, action icon, inventory icon and control icon.

No typing in command is neened for this game (except if you using debug mode).

In debug mode, if you type "coords", the coordonate of the cursor is added to the game.

You can use my game to make your own rpg game.

I  didn't found a title for my agimouse game for the moment.

Thanks AGI1122

I will release this game in english when i get the answer from Brian Provinciano, the maker of agimouse, about a bug I found
when making this game.

Please. Be patient.

Note: didn't you say you don't like hacking agi interpreter?

I never said anything before about modifying AGI. I personally support it, I even made a template game for Brian's mouse support hack of AGI, I also made AGI palette templates.

Hi AGI1122

You said at Hey everyone message:
"I agree with Hig that AGI is not going out of style."

I suppose you and Hig think that using mouse with agi is out of style. If not what do you mean about out of style?

All right then. AGI1122 and Hig like agimouse games. It's great for me.

This is the 101st post. LOL.

Oops. My inventory screenshot is missing from my site. I'll correct it tomorrow.

I implemented the same "hack" into NAGI.. perhaps I could shed some light on the bug.  Brian provided the source code on his web site somewhere as well.

What I ment was AGI as a whole is not going out of style, and even after all these years AGI is still being used to make games. I do like the typeing in AGI, but I also support all of the other aspects of AGI including the hacks and mouse support. I grew up on AGI games, in fact the first game I ever played when I was a little child was Space Quest 2. This is probably the biggest reason I like AGI so much.
