Handyman 3 : Romancing the Wrench
« on: June 05, 2001, 09:37:44 AM »
:D

Hi all fellow agi-ers!

I'm excited to annouce the development of my new game, Handyman 3 : Romancing the Wrench !!!  I know what all of you are thinking ... how can I possibly out-do the first two Handyman adventures? Well, Ryan and I are putting in hundreds of hours to make sure that this will be the best Handyman yet!!!

This time Handyman meets a Handywoman, and must utilize his knowledge of tools and fixing things to romance her toolbelt off (if you get me drift!!!!) I'm pretty exciting about this one if you haven't already noticed!

I've gotten lots of emails from people who would like to help out, but at this time Ryan and I would like to do this by ourselves ... we want to keep it as pure as possible, just the way the handyman would want it!!!

Hello. I would love it if you would give me the FIRST TWO games or give me a VALID WORKING URL to them.

Thank you for your time!

I've never bothered to comment on this topic before, but I am really tired of it. I think that this topic should be deleted and the word "Handy Man" should be banned from here. It's stupid.

We all know there is no handy man game, or it would be available for download. Not to mention the fact that there would be 1 and 2 if there's 3. If there's 3, 1 and 2 should be finished. If they are finished, they should be for download.

Hmmm... the URL cometo.handyman used to work... I wonder why it doesn't now. I planned both these games... the second was released well over a year ago. Unfortunately, I got a new computer since then, so I don't have them anymore. But let me guarantee that they were fun!!! I can't wait for the third!

Well I've downloaded every AGI Demo or Game out there, including Justin's Quest, and I've never come across any Handyman game. And I've looked.

But I think we should let Greg (or whatever his name is) have his fun, even if he is Delusional. A healthy fantasy life can be a good thing after all. We should be supportive of the Gregster and his little problem.

So let's hope Greg and his two games, and third on the way, are all happy and healthy in the land of Pink Clouds and Furry Trees. So Greg old chum, say hello to the Purple Dinosaur, the Flying Elephant and Boboyobo the Talking Chimp for us. And watch out for the Green YumYum Puffs, I hear they make you sick.

We can't wait for Handyman III. So hurry up and finish it. I hope the windows to the padded room are big and bring in lots of sun. You'll need plenty of light to work on that new game. You AGI genius you.

Hmmm. I don't know why you are getting so emotional.
Possibly if you weren't so unsupportive in the past you would have actually received copies of my games. Just because I don't go out of my way to get copies of my games to people that call me fake, doesn't mean that my fabulous Handyman trilogy doesn't exist!!!

And to those people who have given me genuine encouragement over the years: you will receive a copy of my newest game: Handyman 3, Romancing the Wrench!!! You will also receive special collector's editions of the first two Handman adventures, which incorporate extra scenes and multiple endings!!! You should be very excited because they will be good enough to actually play ... unlike Vonster's ridiculous space quest game.

And guess what?!? I plan on eventually doing prequels to the Handyman trilogy, so you can experience the Handyman first discovering his love for tools (and women!!) I'm getting so excited, I'd better get back to work!

Point taken, but I get a delusional fantasy life too if he get's one. Guess what! You know that amazingly spectacular game Cleopatra's Ring that I made, well it actually does exist, true!! But if you don't beleive me you are not going to get a special edition version of Cleopatra's ring to celebrate the release of my new game Aztec - The search for the condor. It has the coolest graphics, I actually got Mark Crowe to do them for me!! Cool huh!! Woo Hoo, from now on refer to me as "Fred Penner" Wheeeeee!

I'm going back into my cell now

Jonozon *oops* "Fred Penner"

I meant thats you said the game was released back in January or so (when you posted about it on the messageboard), but I never received a copy of either 1 or 2.

I never really commented much in the past on the issue, and I tried emailing you 2-3 times for a copy, and my emails bounced back.

Second, the URL you gave us does not and never has worked since you originally posted it.

Finally, after everyone got tired of hearing about this game and never seeing it, there was a topic by our moderator on the homepagetools board stating that you was to either present a valid URL to download it at or apologize to the people for lying about this game. We gave you a fair amount of time but you never replied, even though you was warned that if you didn't present it and you kept talking about it you'd be banned from posting on the board.

If the games do indeed exist, please send me a copy of them and i'll make them available for download.

btw, Vonster's game is one of the best fan made games i've seen so far (if not the best), so you've obviously not played it.

Hey Greg,
I downloaded your demo for Handyman3. It looked great! I can't wait to play the whole game. When do you think that it will be released? Also, I think you should make Handyman 4 in SCI instead of AGI. It's what Sierra would have done!

Loki

p.s. I noticed a continuity error between this game and the first. Handyman now seems to be carrying the wrench in his left hand where in the first, he always had it in his right. Is he left-handed or right-handed? You need to get all of your facts straight?

Thanks for the feedback Loki! Just knowing that somebody is playing and enjoying the Handyman series makes it all worthwhile!!!

With regards to when it will be completed it's tough to say. Handyman 3: Romancing the Wrench is going to have over 100 fun-filled screens, 12 women to pursue, and 40 different types of tools. So far I've finished about 65 rooms. It takes me about 3 - 5 hours to draw a room, depending on how complicated it is. I'm shooting for a Sept. release, but more likely It'll come out in Oct.
