Ok everyone. im proud to announce that the first date quest 2 demo is complete!!! date quest 2 demo v1.0 can be downloaded at my site http://joekool224.tripod.com

it has bugs and the graphics suck at parts, but dont worry, everything will be improved in the final release.

i cant talk much cause i have an early hockey game tommorow and i have to go to bed now.

I loved the angry chef.. I thought that was pretty funny.  Good luck and I hope you manage to finish it.

One thing I noticed is the way you defined your commands.  In your dictionary, you defined all your words as "examine girl" or "look girl" but don't define the words "examine" and "girl" separately.

You can actually provide more than one word to the said command.  so instead of  if (said("examine girl")) you can use if (said("examine", "girl")) and the interpreter will match all the different examine words and all the different girl words.

You don't have to write all the different variations of the same sentence because the interpreter will check for you.  Hope that helps.

Don't feel sorry but you put one of naturette 2 music (sound.007) in your game (sound.001).

But don't worry about this music. This music was not mine anyway.

I made Sound.014 and sound.010 in Naturette 2 from scratch. If you want to use theres songs in your final version, don't forget to ask me permission first.

Remember. Freeware is not domain public. You can't use
some codes without the author's permission.

robin i did not take that from naturette 2. i havent even played that game. i had that song on my pc as a .mid file and i converted it. i will ask anyone for permission. i asked eigen if i could use the code for that music player, and he said yes.

thanks nick. i was trying to add humor. but did you find him twice? he's in the demo 2 times.

Hey Joey,

looking good so far. I found the chef twice  ... seems to have a lousy temper...

It might be useful if you could add a few more "look" commands to the game. When you mention an item in a general "look" command, it gives the game more depth if you can also look at it specifically (for example the sign outside the appartement, or the desks). Even if they aren't important for the game, they make the player feel he has more "impact" on the game. If you could add a little more vocabulary that would also be good (for example get/take/pick up/acquire etc).

Also, but this is a very minor thing, try to draw the ego after he is repositioned in some rooms. Then he doesn't seem to skip places suddenly.

Otherwise it's looking good. Keep it up!

Mmmh...yep...

Well...the start was okay, except for that spider sun^^;The chef really was funny(well, everything is funny from my view)but I think the game has a lack of words. It doesn't understand anything I write and that makes me angry...You should put up more things to look and so one and so one...One thing I would also change is using graphics, mainly person views and backgrounds, from other games. However, that's just my opinion but I think it is not nice to take graphics from other games.

By the way...our game is going to be late(again).My friend hasn't been working at all with the graphics and we're planning to start all over. I hope we'll be able to show a demo in the winter.

Played it. It's quite humorous (like that chef ), but I don't like to see graphics that I've seen in other games as well. Try to make all the pictures instead of ripping them from other games. That really boosts the quality of a game.
Anyway, don't go slacking, 'cause we'd miss out on some great jokes

ok thank you for bringing up the pics from other games. the only one i can think of i used, was the one from pq. the reason i put that in, was because dq2 is supposed to continue from dq1. in dq1, that was your house, so i just used that to continue. but like i said, i used pics from dq1 also, just to set the mood that you are continueing from where you left off, and are in the same area from the previous game.

i will add more commands. thank you.

btw: did anyone get 42 points?
