Sent donation - never received file

Several times on this website, Brian has stated and hinted that if someone sends him a donation and asks him for a newer verison, he will send it to them. Several days ago I made a PayPal donation of $40, made a polite request, and have received no response whatsoever.

This happen to anyone else?

Just relax.  Drink some water.  Like everyone else...I'm sure Brian has a job that consumes his time.  Maybe he doesn't check his email every night.

I plan on sending you more Brian, really. I just work part time, so it takes longer to get more money, what with paying the bills and all.

Well if you dont get the file (I never got it), I guess you can atleast have the satisfaction of knowing you contributed.

I sent $115 Canadian, and I got the file. And I've said it before, and I'll say it again, give Brian more time, what he's doing is hard work.

I wanted to send more, but my parents were already furious went I sent him the money. In fact, the only reason they let me send the money is because I promised them it would be my last time.

I have sent it out to those who have donated. However, I am sorry, but do not normally send it to those who only donate $5 or so, as it is worth more than that I feel.

I my mailboxes are very busy and I often get side tracked by new messages and forget about old ones, or even miss messages. For one, I get so much spam that I get quite trigger happy on the "Del" key, and miss messages. I just don't like to waste my time sifting through spam in detail. The best thing is to put "SCI STUDIO" clearly in the subject. Also, if you send one message and I don't respond, send it again! Please don't just send me one message then complain I don't respond. I get hundreds of spam messages daily (with a filter) and can't just read each one to confirm it is spam.

I really appreciate the donations, and don't intentionally not send it out. If you've donated and not received it, email me. I will gladly send it out. I won't send it out, however, if your "cash was lost in the mail" (yes, I've receved that line more than once). The best thing to do is to pay with PayPal or send a check or money order. If the check or money orders are lost in the mail, they can be replaced and you won't lose a dime!

I apologize for the double post, that was not my intention at all.

When I originally posted this message, it was meant for this board, but I accidentally posted it to the "Sarien and other Interpreters" board. So I came to this board and made the post with the intention of deleting the one on the Sarien board, but when I went back to the Sarien board and tried to delete the post, it wouldn't let me.

Also - I initially responded back, then sent you a second E-mail the next day. I didn't send anymore E-mails because I thought you might have been on vacation or something and would have seen the ones I originally sent anyway.

In any case - I just received the file via E-mail. Thank you!

Here's a tip for donators. Never send cash by mail or even 'hidden' somewhere, like in the middle of a really cheap book, it's very likely to be stolen, if you can't send by Paypal, then send it in demand draft.

In case your wondering, the kind of check you write to be sent to Brian is called a demand draft. My Law teacher told me that during class.

I made a donation of 25$ a few months back, but I did it out of good intentions of not expecting anything back.  So whats all the hoopla about a file you're supposed to get?

What is the diff of this new version of SCI and current Verison?  thanks!!

You only receive the file if you asked for it after donating. Basically the file is a pre-release version of SCI Studio which can open/edit open ALL SCI games including the VGA SCI games.

The new version can open/edit all SCI games just about, the old one only allows you to open/edit SCI0 games which are EGA.
