Stand alone game 2

On websites are downloadable games as exe.files made with SCIstudio. How is that possible? Did they use an unknown compiler or interpreter?

They are probably just zip files, all of the files which the interpreter needs to translate are put into one compressed folder to make it easier to download or share then when the files are unzipped a bunch of files(drivers, resources, interpreter) pop out.

I don't really proclaim to know anything really so if you could give me a website, or game name then we'll see if we can get to the right answer.
