Open Season

I know that pq: open season was made around the time sierra made the transition from vga to svga, but can anyone explain to me why the graphics are really weird?  I mean, the main character view is pixelated, and some of the screens, are hi-res in sections, and low res in others (eg: some signs are clear and other parts of the same screen are pixelated).  The other thing is, has anyone noticed that the elevator music is the same as the lobby music from lsl6?

Don't feel like explaining the obvious right now; read the PQ4 Trivia section on Mobygames for details.

I already knew all that stuff in the trivia section. I wanted to know why only some parts were done in hi res.  I dont think it is obvious at all.
